It offers a broad service temperature range, from -62°C (-80°F) to +160° (+320°F), with intermittent excursions allowed up to +216°C (+420°F).
This versatile material is primarily designed for fillet sealing of fuel tanks and various aircraft fuselage sealing needs. Once cured, the sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties even after prolonged exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas, ensuring long-term durability. PPG PR2001 Class B is a two-part, epoxy-cured Permapol P-3.1 polythioether compound. In its uncured state, it is a low sag, thixotropic paste that can be easily applied using an extrusion gun or spatula. Notably, unlike standard polysulfide fuel tank sealants, it can cure effectively at low temperatures and remains unaffected by changes in relative humidity. Additionally, this sealant exhibits exceptional adhesion to properly prepared common aircraft substrates.
